Alana has settled in so well at Titoki . She knows how to put on her apron, get her paints from the shelf and to wash and put everything away for the next person when she’s done !
The digger in the sandpit requires a lot of skills to manouver. You enjoy being in the sandpit with your friends.
You have made good friends at school, with whom you explore books and geometric solids.
Thank you Alana for caring for the environment !
What learning do I think is happening here?
This is a snippet of what Alana is learning at Titoki – independence as she carries out self-chosen activities, focus and concentration as she paints or folds cloths and care for the environment as she sweeps up after lunch. She is also learning social skills as she works and plays with friends both indoors and out.
Opportunities and possibilities?
We will continue to introduce Alana to the many materials in the Prepared Environment as well as lessons on Grace and Courtesy that empower her to develop holistically into a competent and confident learner and communicator.
Comments:
Yes you do! Maria Montessori wrote “never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed”. Let her help, let her be independent 🙂 She is such a delightful child. We are very blessed to have her at Titoki 🙂

It’s so good to see how well she has settled in. And I was just thinking while looking at these pictures that I guess some of Alana’s frustration at home rises from not being involved in all the tasks. Thanks for the reminder that I have a real helper at hand 🙂
